The Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) published a Final Rule on December 9, 2014 regarding workplace compliance -sexual orientation, implementing Executive Order 13672, which prohibits federal contractors and subcontractors from discriminating against individuals on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. The new rule will take effect April 8, 2015. Diversity Job Fairs – STEM Candidates

Diversity job fairs are good – make no mistake. Many STEM level candidates may not agree. Diversity job fairs are excellent venues for a variety of job categories. We’ve noticed diversity job fairs are successful in attracting talent for trades and transportation,sales and marketing,manufacturing operations and services / hospitality functions. Diversity.com surveys have indicated certain STEM level candidates choose not to attend diversity job fairs. The reasons for not attending vary by individual.
